Bokamoso Ba Rona Youth Campaign
Our Future in Your Hands!
Be Part of it!
Want to be part of this REVOLUTION, you can take part in one of the following ways:
MXiT
Tell us how you feel about being South African, and what you think our country’s most important challenges are by answering our survey questionnaire on MXiT!
Our Website – March to Parliament with Us!
You can take part in the FIRST EVER, ‘virtual march’, when we march to the South African Parliament in cyberspace in solidarity with all young people of this country! Go on our website (www.bokabuddies.co.za) to show your support, and make history!!
Bokamoso Ambassadors
We already have a group of 50 Ambassadors who are helping us spread the word… Most of them are on Facebook – so search ‘Bokabuddies’ on Facebook and you can chat to these “boka buddies” about the project, how you feel about South Africa, or whatever! If anything, you’ll make more friends to add to your list of friends!
Youth Dialogue Forums
Once we’ve told the nation how we feel (group therapy), we will need to sit together and start coming up with creative ways of dealing with youth issues. We will be selecting a group of sixty young people from each province, to discuss in detail how they believe young people can live happy productive lives! These discussions will start in March 2010!
Youth Summit
The Youth Summit is a chance for young people like you and me, to get together at the National Parliament in Cape Town, and discuss our issues with the policy makers... Members of Parliament, Ministers, Director Generals of government departments! That way, we’re not just talking to each other about our issues, but we’re telling the people that can do something about them! This will take place in September 2010!
Social Entrepreneurship
After we meet with the big-wigs, it will be time for action! While it is the job of the politicians to make sure the government takes care of our basic needs, it is still up to us to define our destinies!! So if you have a plan to keep the streets in your neighbourhood clean, or to take care of orphaned children, or how we can stop the drug problems in your school, there will be a chance for you to submit that plan... and the best one’s may get funded, so that they can actually happen!! How awesome would that be?? If your great plan to save the world (or your street), actually happened!?!? This is probably the most exciting part of this project, so use your time wisely, you have until September 2010!! Good luck, and have fun!!
Don’t forget to check our website regularly for updates on events happening in and around your province!
This project is about thinking up creative ways of making our country the best place to live in!! Come on, we all have a role to play!!!
