Boka Events

Don’t forget to check this website regularly for updates on events happening in and around your province. This project is about thinking up creative ways of making our country the best place to live in! Come on, we all have a role to play!

VIRTUAL MARCH
It is vital for the youth to stand up and make their presence felt! In March 2010, Boka Buddies from around the country began a Virtual March to Parliament for the State of the Nation Address to bring attention to the needs of South Africa’s youth. We’re still marching! Connect to “Bokabuddies” on MXit Mix and ADD YOUR MARCHER to show your solidarity with all the young people of this country.

BOKAMOSO AMBASSADORS
We have a large group of Ambassadors who are helping us spread the word. JOIN BOKABUDDIES ON FACEBOOK to make contact with the cool people who are involved in the project. Some are featured right HERE on the site.

YOUTH DIALOGUE FORUMS
We need to sit down together and start coming up with creative ways of dealing with youth issues. We will be selecting young people from each province to discuss in detail how they believe young people can live happy productive lives.

YOUTH SUMMIT
The Youth Summit is a chance for young people like you and me to get together at the National Parliament in Cape Town to discuss our issues with the policy makers. I’m talking about real Members of Parliament, Ministers and Director Generals of Government Departments! That way, we’re not just talking to each other about our issues but also telling the people that can do something about them!

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
While it is the job of the politicians to make sure the government takes care of our basic needs, it is still up to us to define our destinies! If you have a plan to keep the streets in your neighbourhood clean or take care of orphaned children or how we can stop the drug problems in your school, submit your plan and let’s see if we can make it happen!
